SUPPORTING FEMALE-HELMED SPOTS

Let’s Hear It For The Ladies!

In honor of it being Women’s History Month, we wanted to show some LOVE to our fellow female business owners. We are always down to support ladies doing amazing things, so we have rounded up some fantastic female-owned and/or helmed spots that are definitely worth checking out!

AOC

  • AOC is definitely one of OGs on the LA restaurant scene. After opening critically acclaimed Lucques in 1998, the duo of 3 time James Beard Award winning chef Suzanne Goin and James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year 2018  Caroline Styne embarked on A.O.C., the area’s pioneering wine bar that  first paired an indulgent list of wine by the glass with a menu of  market-driven small plates. It has been a hit for many years, now with a second location in Brentwood. It has warm and cozy vibes and it offers several private dining options for those looking for a timeless and stylish space.

Botanica

  • We adore this Silverlake spot, not only because it was started by one of our former clients, Heather Sperling, but because it has a fantastic grab-and-go market, organic wines and the tastiest veggies around. Co-owners Heather and Emily Fiffer believe in healthful and nourishing food that is exciting and vibrant. They have created a positive and hospitable environment that attracts people from all over…even Westsiders.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar

  • We talk about Esters a lot…but we are BIG fans of all Rustic Canyon Group spots. Kathryn Coker is the lovely and talented co-owner and wine director of our favorite neighborhood spot. Check it out if you are looking for a seasonal sip, a little wine education and a great grilled cheese.

Girl & The Goat

  • Located downtown, Chef Stephanie Izard leads the team at Girl & the Goat. The culinary team loves to use local produce and changes the menu with the seasons, while maintaining the bold flavors and global cuisine of the Chicago Flagship. It is a bright and airy spot with both indoor and outdoor private dining options available.

Local Kitchen & Wine Bar

  • Maire Byrne is the chef and owner behind Local Kitchen + Wine Bar, a neighborhood favorite in Santa Monica. It is a casual dining experience with seasonal plates and Neapolitan style pizza, great wines and craft cocktails. Maire is already beloved in the Ocean Park area for her amazing taste at her other spot Thyme Café, which has everything from delicious seasonal fare to epic pastries and a great selection of party supplies.

Rossoblu

  • Located in the Arts District, Rossoblu is such a standout spot due to the homemade pasta dishes, in-house butchery and fresh produce.Dina Samson is the co-founder and owner of both Rossoblu and Superfine Pizza. And she is a co-founder of the Independent Hospitality Coalition, RE: Her, and FeedLoveLA, two organizations which focus on supporting and uplifting the LA restaurant community.

The Butcher’s Daughter

  • A longtime favorite, we LOVE this space for the avo toast, juice flights and supercute back patio space which is PERFECT for a gathering with your girls. It is a plant-foward restaurant and juice bar. The Butcher’s Daughter was envisioned and created by founder Heather Tierney, who is a designer. Her creative agency, Wanderlust designs both residential and hospitality projects, as well as branding and identity. Other projects include The Waterfront Venice; a 10,000 square-foot beach bar and restaurant on the Venice Boardwalk; and Roosterfish; an iconic cocktail bar on Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
